ABOUT US
Our Musical Director
Noel Henry is a graduate of University College, Dublin. He is an experienced church organist, pianist, bass singer and composer/arranger. Most notably he has written and directed two musicals and composed a mass to celebrate the millennium, which was broadcast on the RTE television station. Some of Noel's Church music compositions have been published in the book Sing to the Lord.
Locally, as Head of Music at Our Lady's Convent School in Loughborough, Noel has produced and directed school musical productions including Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and RJ Rocks–The Musical (based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet). Noel's students have nominated him for the Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year award.
Noel is also a keen golfer, loves cooking and the odd glass of Guinness or red wine!
Our Accompanist
Sandy Lewis joined us in October 2008. Sandy was born and educated in the Highlands. She studied piano, singing and harp at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music, graduating with a Diploma in Musical Education. Sandy continued her studies at Glasgow University, gaining the degree of BMus.
Having spent the majority of her career in secondary school classrooms, Sandy now enjoys composing, arranging and teaching piano at home. Sandy has twice won the Arrangers Competition at the National Mod and won prizes locally at the Composers' Platform held in Loughborough in the '90s.
Choir Members
We have about 60 members with a range of ages and musical abilities. Most of us live in the Loughborough / Quorn area, but some travel further. We are always happy to recruit new members (how to join the choir ...).
